Mid Essex Radio Car Club (established in 1984 as Springfield Buggy Club and then as Springfield Radio Controlled Car Club)
has, since its early, days enjoyed a reputation for its friendliness
and emphasis on 'fun'. Many members have, over the years, achieved
considerable success at Regional, National & International
level and in team competitions.
Over the years, the club has held annual Race
Meetings to raise money for those less fortunate members of society
such as Cystic Fibrosis sufferers, children at Great Ormond Street
Hospital and the BBC Children In Need Appeal. It has also appeared
at many school & village fetes providing spectator entertainment.
The club races during the Spring, Summer and Autumn at its permanent 'off-road'
track at Great Braxted (near Witham). Major competition meetings are also held
here. A warm welcome is extended to everyone and members are always pleased to help and advise newcomers.
The Track, Rostrum & Features

The Classes raced are all scales of Electric and 'Nitro' off-road Buggies, Trucks, and Truggies up to 1/8th scale. The off-road track at Great Braxted has proved to be ideal for these classes. All drivers, beginners to experts are most
welcome. The Club has its own fully computerised automatic lap counting system,
which is used at all meetings and has earned respect
nationwide for the high standard of organisation at race meetings. In recent years the Club has hosted Buggy & Truck National competitions.
